Article Icon 1SoCal Pair Charged in White House Plot

The FBI has arrested two Southern California men in connection with an alleged plot to attack a UFC event at the White House using explosive-laden drones and gunfire.

Bryan Omar Roa, 24, of Calimesa, and Michael Alan Thomas, 32, of Pinon Hills, were arrested Saturday and are among five people charged across several states with conspiracy to commit murder.

FBI Director Kash Patel said agents learned of the threat on June 10 and quickly launched a multi-state operation. Court records allege the group planned to use explosive drones to trigger an evacuation before opening fire on fleeing attendees and other designated targets.

Investigators say members of the anti-government group communicated online and voiced grievances about government corruption, the Epstein files, and other issues. The alleged plot unraveled after one suspect’s mother overheard conversations and alerted law enforcement.

Article Icon 1Legislature Passes $356 Billion Budget

California lawmakers adopted a $356 billion state budget Monday that rejects or delays many of the social-service cuts Gov. Gavin Newsom proposed last month.

The June 15 vote was largely a formality, since legislators must pass a balanced budget by that date or forfeit their pay. The measure now sets up two weeks of negotiations with Newsom before the fiscal year begins July 1.

Lawmakers rejected Newsom’s plan to reinstate a strict $2,000 Medi-Cal asset limit for seniors and disabled adults, instead proposing a less restrictive standard that would take effect in 2027. They also rejected proposed cuts to In-Home Supportive Services with bipartisan support.

Newsom has argued the changes are necessary because federal policy changes have increased costs for California’s health and human services programs. One of the biggest unresolved disputes is his proposal to withhold $3.9 billion in school funding until projected tax revenue materializes, a move education groups have threatened to challenge in court.

Article Icon 1San Andreas Stress Hits 1,000-Year High

New modeling shows stress on Southern California’s San Andreas and San Jacinto fault systems has reached its highest level in 1,000 years, with multiple segments now at or above their highest observed stress levels.

The peer-reviewed study, led by the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, found the region is in what lead author Liliane Burkhard called a “critically loaded state.” Researchers emphasized the findings do not predict when an earthquake will occur.

The study found Cajon Pass could act as an “earthquake gate,” potentially allowing both fault systems to rupture in a single event. Such a joint rupture could be significantly more damaging than a major quake on either fault system alone.

A combined event would affect densely populated parts of Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Riverside and the Coachella Valley. Researchers noted that more than 160 years have passed since the region’s last major rupture.

Unknown Number Calling? It’s Not Random

The BBC caught scam call center workers on hidden cameras as they laughed at the people they were tricking. One worker bragged about making $250,000 from victims. The disturbing truth? Scammers don’t pick phone numbers at random. They buy your data from brokers.

Once your data is out there, it’s not just calls. It’s phishing, impersonation, and identity theft. That’s why we recommend Incogni: They delete your info from the web, monitor and follow up automatically, and continue to erase data as new risks appear.
