The Dove Fire burned 223 acres near Highway 108 and Stockton Road, forcing evacuations across several Tuolumne County neighborhoods. Two firefighters were injured and hospitalized.

Crews worked Sunday night into Monday to extinguish hot spots and strengthen control lines while evacuation orders and warnings remained in place.

Highway 108 was reduced to one lane near the fire, and several local roads remained closed. Evacuation centers opened for residents, pets, and large animals.

A second Tuolumne County blaze, the 13-acre Court Fire, prompted evacuations near the courthouse Monday before crews stopped its forward progress and downgraded orders to warnings.

Residents can follow the Tuolumne County Sheriff for updates and check the county’s evacuation map for current orders, warnings, and road closures.

A California sailor was rescued alive after spending about a month adrift during his first solo voyage across the Pacific Ocean.

Kai Sato, 39, left Catalina Island on June 7. Two weeks later, his sailboat’s mast snapped before he ran out of fuel and lost phone service.

Sato used PVC pipes and kayak paddles to repair his sails. He survived on oatmeal, fish, and squid while collecting condensation for drinking water.

The crew of the M/V George III spotted Sato’s damaged boat July 21 about 900 miles from Hawaii and brought him aboard after a 90-minute rescue.

Real Estate’s Gatekeepers Just Lost

There’s a reason why so many millionaires invest in real estate. It’s one of the most time-tested asset classes in existence: U.S. home values have appreciated at an average of 4%+ annually since 19671. But with prohibitively high minimums, the system was never designed for regular investors.

Reiturn® is changing that. And now you can own a piece of the platform, making it happen.

Built by a team that managed $350M in assets across 3,600+ apartments and delivered 45+ consecutive quarters of investor distributions, Reiturn® is modernizing how everyday people access real estate.

And while REIT investors collect dividends on someone else’s terms, Reiturn® investors capture a cut of every dollar the platform earns: asset management fees, carried interest, and future funds.

Invest in Reiturn® before the perk window closes Aug. 13.
